We endured another triathlon, this time supporting Action for A-T
Well, if last year’s decision to have 7 teams participate in the 2011 London Triathlon was slightly crazy, surely we were out of our minds to be doing it all over again in the 2012 London Triathlon.

Almost half of us here at CFC took part in the Sprint Team Relay, an event consisting of a 750m open water swim, a 20k bike ride and a 5k run. Happily, it paid off and we managed to raise over £5,000 for Action for A-T, a charity which supports the research of Ataxia-Telangiectasia, a rare and progressive childhood neurodegenerative disease. There is currently no cure for this terrible condition, but hopefully with more support and research, scientists will be able to find one.

Our ‘Directors’ team consisting of Graeme Newman, Andy Holmes and Michael Grist once again showed the youngsters how it is done by completing the course in just 1hr 35mins. All of our teams placed within the top 200 of over 300 competing, and our leading team finished 23rd with a lightning fast time of 1hr 18mins. Surprisingly, we had no disqualified teams this year!

Thank you so much to everyone who took part, cheered us on and sponsored us.
